1. Who we are
Volt is developed by Nazlican Sahin and Ahmet Kok. Volt is an independent app and is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
Questions about this policy: me@ahmetkok.dev.
2. What Volt does
Volt shows battery levels for devices and accessories you choose to track across Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. You decide what appears on your list. Volt does not require a Volt account or Volt login.
3. No Volt account or ads
In App Store builds of Volt:
- There is no Volt account, password, or profile system.
- There are no ads.
- Apple processes Volt+ payments. RevenueCat receives an anonymous App User ID from its SDK (Volt does not create a custom login), App Store purchase receipts and transaction data, product identifiers for monthly, yearly, and lifetime Volt+, and entitlement status so paid features can unlock and purchases can be validated.
Optional attributes on that same RevenueCat customer profile: selected setup needs, counts for device categories you choose, whether those setup sections were answered or skipped, onboarding progress, completion time, and optional cancellation reasons with a timestamp. Hearing aid counts stay on the device. Volt does not send your device roster, Bluetooth names, hardware IDs, live battery readings, contacts, or payment card numbers to RevenueCat. Apple Watch does not talk to RevenueCat; paid status can be mirrored from iPhone.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your device roster to track you across other apps or websites.
Optional. Selected reasons are shared with RevenueCat to improve Volt. You can skip this question.
RevenueCat processes data in the United States. Customer records remain until deleted; purchase records may be retained for billing, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Contact us for access, correction or deletion requests, including your RevenueCat ID from Manage Subscription. Resetting or deleting Volt does not delete RevenueCat records or cancel a subscription.
4. Where your data lives
Your device list, nicknames, preferences, live battery readings, and battery history may be stored in your Apple iCloud account when iCloud is available for Volt. Volt keeps that data in Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store and in your private CloudKit database. Apple stores it for your Apple ID. Other people cannot see it. Volt does not use Local Network or Bonjour to share your roster, and Volt does not run a separate server that stores your device roster.
Battery history is about 14 days of readings, stored in your private CloudKit database. If iCloud is off or unavailable for Volt, data stays on the device. Apple’s privacy practices for iCloud and CloudKit apply to data stored there. Apple’s privacy site.
5. On-device processing and permissions
Volt reads battery and accessory information on your devices using Apple platform APIs. Processing happens on device where the OS allows it.
Depending on features you use, Volt may ask for:
- Bluetooth (optional): reads battery levels for accessories already connected in Settings, and can detect new Bluetooth connections in the background so Volt can offer to save them. Volt does not use Local Network access.
- Notifications (optional): if you enable alerts about low battery or related reminders.
You can deny or later revoke these permissions in system Settings. Core battery tracking for items already on your list does not require granting every optional permission.
6. What we do not collect
Volt does not collect for our own servers:
- Account credentials for a Volt login (there is none).
- Advertising identifiers for ads (there are no ads).
- Your device roster, Bluetooth names, hardware IDs, live battery readings, contacts, hearing aid counts, or payment card numbers (Apple handles payment; those items are not sent to RevenueCat).
- Your device roster as a marketing or tracking dataset on Volt infrastructure.
If you email us for support, we receive whatever you include in that message (for example your address and the content of the email). We use that only to respond and to improve support.
7. This website
This website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for aggregate traffic and performance measurements. Hosting logs may include technical request data. These website measurements do not contain your Volt device roster.
8. Children
Volt is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for a Volt account (Volt has no such account). If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it from our inbox where reasonably possible.
9. Your choices
- Remove devices from your Volt list in the app at any time.
- Manage or delete Volt’s iCloud data, including the Key-Value Store and private CloudKit data, in Settings under your Apple ID and iCloud.
- Control Bluetooth and Notifications for Volt in system Settings.
- Delete the app to remove local app data on that device. Copies in iCloud, including private CloudKit data, follow Apple’s rules for app data in iCloud.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this page when Volt’s practices or App Store requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Volt after an update means you are using the app under the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected here before they apply to new App Store builds whenever practical.
